I think if I book took place in the future the characters would stay the same but the world might look different. The world would have newer technology different transportation. And there wouldn't be enough old machines for Travis to restore. It would probably feel normal to the characters if they were born in the future. They will be a lot more assistive technologies for Ally to use then.
